Postgraduate training for
Alexander Teachers in

Psychophysical Integration
(a means-whereby of working that
includes the emotions and the energy
patterns of the whole self)
This training takes place in London over eight weekends, with one weekend workshop per month, starting in September.

Psychophysical Integration is a way of building bridges between ‘hands-on’ and ‘talk’ therapy. Many psychotherapists and counsellors are discovering that their work is limited because it does not include touch, and many people come to the Alexander Technique because of deep unconscious longings to be touched safely and with care. This subtle hands-on work can result in emotional releases. Alexander Teachers need to take responsibility for the effect this sensitive work can be having at deep psychological levels, and this course addresses these issues and offers teachers a simple but profound way of working with them.

Psychophysical Integration
offers a way of understanding psychological and spiritual development, which is based on both Western researches into psychology and Eastern Spiritual traditions. Participants will learn to work with a developmental model of the chakras as a conceptual framework, supported by research from Western theorists. In addition we will teach a way of hands-on working which enables us to consider the whole self in all its aspects, physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. This framework will be used for work on the self, as well as for hands-on work with others.
